Watch our highlights video featuring interviews with participants at the10th biannual Energy Storage Partnership (ESP) Stakeholder Forum and Partner Meetings in Pretoria, South Africa! The World Bank’s ESMAP, as the ESP's secretariat and partner, co-hosted the meetings in collaboration with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and Environment (DFFE) of South Africa. The event brought together private companies in the battery/energy storage industry, research centers, developers and financiers, World Bank government clients, ESP Partners, and ESMAP - Energy Sector Management Assistance Program donors. Participants shared the experiences of developing countries in their energy storage journey - all in the framework of decarbonization and achieving the 1.5°C climate goal. We welcomed our six new partners at the Meetings: African Development Bank Group, International Solar Alliance, Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics & E-Governance of Belize, the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and Power Africa of USAID have all joined, bringing the total number of ESP partners to more than 50.
