EECI Sessions at the Fifth Urban Research Symposium, Marseille, France June 28-30, 2009
ESMAP participated in the World Bank’s 5th Urban Research Symposium - Cities and Climate Change: Responding to an Urgent Agenda held in Marseille, France from June 28-30, 2009. The symposium was attended by over 650 researchers and practitioners. ESMAP sponsored two EECI sessions─Tools and Assessments and Promoting Energy Efficiency. The two sessions provided a platform to both developing and developed country urban experts to present and exchange their work and experiences on urban energy issues. A total of 79 participants from 16 countries attended these sessions.
Tools and Assessments captured ongoing efforts on developing analytical tools for addressing energy efficiency in emerging cities and new townships. Meanwhile, Promoting Energy Efficiency addressed some of the energy efficiency and greenhouse gas mitigation projects in an urban setting. The links to key messages and presentations are below:
