A Four-Part Webinar Series
The ESMAP Insights Webinar Series will discuss the power of energy surveys as a tool for identifying policy options and project ideas to improve energy access. We will explore how microdata generated from comprehensive energy surveys across 25 countries -based on the Multi-Tier Framework (MTF)- can improve project designs and policy formulation and offer insights on how best to conduct and implement energy surveys.

This second webinar explored how attaining higher tiers of electricity services, as measured by the MTF, has a significant and increasing impact on household welfare. From the analysis of the MTF survey in Nepal in 2017, participants learned the incremental impact of moving up tiers by one on development outcomes. The webinar showed the benefits of using the MTF to measure energy access to inform policy decisions.
