ESMAP’s new publication provides insights on gender equality and best practices for closing gender gaps and empowering women in the sector. The authors delved into the importance of adopting best practices by client countries at the institutional level, and during project design and implementation.
Hydropower is a catalyst for job creation and clean energy production, offering women access to services, employment opportunities, markets, and decision-making platforms.
Recognizing the importance of hydropower in advancing not only energy sustainability but also gender equality – while developing comprehensive data, information, and knowledge to guide the connection between the two – is a must!
