Access to energy is central to addressing critical development challenges. Energy deeply influences human development, serving as a catalyst for economic growth and social development. The United Nations acknowledges the paramount importance and far reaching impact of energy access, enshrining it in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target 7.1, which aims for universal access to affordable, reliable, and modern energy services. SDG 7.1 is instrumental in achieving numerous other SDG targets, spanning poverty eradication through advancements in health, education, water supply, and industrialization to mitigating climate change.
