Join our ESMAP webinar to explore how carbon markets can accelerate access to modern cooking solutions — and the role carbon crediting plays in making that possible.
When households switch to fuel-efficient stoves or cleaner fuels, they generate measurable reductions in CO₂ emissions that can be converted into tradeable carbon credits. This mechanism provides crucial financing for clean cooking projects while delivering broader benefits: reduced greenhouse gas emissions, less deforestation, better health outcomes, and time savings for women and girls who would otherwise spend hours gathering fuel.
In this session, you will learn on how carbon credits are generated from clean cooking projects, tackle methodological challenges such as over-crediting, and discuss how carbon revenues can complement other sources of finance to close the persistent funding gap. The session will also draw on country experiences from Ghana and Rwanda, offering concrete lessons on structuring national carbon programs, monetizing carbon credits at scale, and aligning carbon programs with national energy and climate objectives.
Come and learn about the options and key considerations for leveraging carbon markets to advance the clean cooking transition. | ||||||||||||
